Website Design for Lansing Small Businesses

Orvessa Marketing designs and rebuilds websites for small businesses in Lansing, East Lansing, Okemos and the rest of Mid-Michigan. If your current site is slow, hard to read on a phone, or doesn't make it obvious how to reach you, we remake it on a modern, fast foundation — using your real name, photos, services and contact details, not a template that could belong to anyone.

Who this is for

  • Local businesses whose site was built years ago and hasn't kept up with how people browse now — mostly on phones.
  • Owners who get referrals but hear "I couldn't find your hours / prices / phone number" from new customers.
  • Service businesses and contractors (plumbers, remodelers, builders and other home-service pros) who need a site that turns a Google search into a call. It's a core part of contractor marketing, but the same approach works for shops, studios, clinics and professional offices.

What you get

  • Mobile-first layout that puts your phone number, service area and main call to action where a visitor sees them first.
  • Clear service pages written around how your customers actually search and decide — one page per real service, not a wall of text.
  • Speed built in. A static-first build with no page-builder bloat, optimized images and minimal JavaScript. Slow sites lose people on mobile, and speed matters to search.
  • SEO foundations from day one: clean URLs, one clear heading per page, unique titles and descriptions, structured data where it helps, and a sitemap search engines can read.
  • Accessible, semantic HTML so the site works for more people and more devices.
  • Forms and tracking that actually reach you — inquiries go to your inbox or phone, and basic analytics are set up so you can see what's working.
  • You own it. The code and files are yours.

How a remake works

  1. Audit. We look at your current site, your Google presence and how competitors in your area present themselves. You get plain-English notes on what's holding the site back.
  2. Plan and quote. We agree on the pages you need and what each one has to do. The remake is quoted after we confirm it's a fit, and timing depends on what we scope on the call — simple remakes turn around quickly. You'll know both before work starts.
  3. Design and build. We write and design around your real business: your services, your service area, your photos.
  4. Launch. While we build, you review a temporary preview (hosted for about 90 days). Launch puts the site live on your own host, or on ours if you add hosting. Domain and DNS changes happen only with your OK. We check redirects from old URLs, SSL, forms and analytics so you don't lose what your old site had earned.
  5. After launch. Keep it as a one-time project, or pair it with Local SEO or a monthly marketing plan so the site keeps working.

FAQ

How much does website design cost?
Every remake is quoted after a short conversation, because a five-page site for a service business and a larger site with many services are different projects. You'll get the price before any work starts, and $500 comes off the remake quote when it's a fit. See Pricing for our monthly packages.
How long does a website remake take?
It depends on what we scope in your consultation. Simple remakes turn around quickly; we'll give you timing along with the price after a quick call.
Who owns and hosts the site?
You own the code and files. Previews are hosted temporarily (about 90 days). At launch the site can go on your own host, or you can add our hosting for $49/month or $490/year, which covers SSL, backups, uptime checks and 30 minutes of small edits a month. Hosting is included on our monthly plans. We don't guarantee uptime or rankings.
How do I get changes made after launch?
Email us or use the site form. Small changes like text, photos, hours and prices are done within 2 business days. New pages or redesigns are quoted separately.
Will my new site still look like my business?
Yes. We use your real name, photos, services and contact details, not a stock template.
Will I lose my Google rankings if I redesign?
A redesign is the moment rankings most often slip, usually from broken old URLs. We map old pages to new ones with redirects and check them at launch. We don't guarantee rankings — nobody honestly can — but we protect what you have.
Do you only work with contractors?
No. Contractors and home-service businesses are a big part of our work, but we design sites for all kinds of small businesses in Lansing and Mid-Michigan, and for owners elsewhere who need the help.
